I love all things retro and vintage. For most of my life, I’ve collected items and furniture from the 40s, 50s and 60s. In fact, my entire apartment is furnished with vintage items that my mother and I have tracked down in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area.

My mother runs Corner Cottage Antiques at Antiques by the Fountain in East Ridge, Tennessee. While helping her at an estate sale, I noticed how amazing the artwork and graphic design were in vintage cookbooks. These weren’t the Joy of Cooking or Betty Crocker books, but the promotional cookbooks that are printed by Swans Down cake flour or Jello. These were treasure troves of vintage recipes and an era now forgotten.

My mother frequently sells these cookbooks in her antique booth. This blog is a project to scan all of them in and preserve them for history. In addition to scanning each page, I’ll post each recipe separately, so they can be searched by category.
